March 26, 2005 - The backbone's connected to the. . .
I was thinking of the backbone of my Grove
this morning. I began to think about the members I consider essential to
the Grove, and this list was an interesting one.
The usual suspects were, of course, on the list. There were members who are at
every meeting, and members who only show up once or twice per year.
When I finished thinking about the people that this Grove could not work
without, I was surprised and amused to find that I was not on my own list.
And then I realized what I was most proud of with this Grove: I've built
something that will outlast me. This Grove doesn't actually need me in
order to continue and grow.
That gave me a lot of satisfaction.
Thanks to my Grove, for making this all worth while.
