August 27, 2004 - Kori and the frogs (a remembrance from
childhood)
One day, Danger's Daughter and I made a bet.
"I can catch more frogs than you!" she said.
"Nuh-uh!" I shouted back.
"Wanna bet?" she asked, her sly smile and the wink in her eye catching the sun.
"You're on!" I shouted.
*****
At the end of the day, I had five, and so did she.
"We're even," I said.
"Nuh-uh!" she said.
"I have five, you have five! We're even! You didn't catch more than I did, so I win!" I smiled
triumphantly.
"You didn't count one!" she shouted.
"Which?" I asked.
"You!" she shouted and planted a huge kiss on my lips.
