August 11, 2004 - I knew I was forgetting something. . .
Is there anything I would add to yesterday's list? Looking over it, it seems incomplete. It seems like something was forgotten, and I believe I've placed that thing:
Virtue.
There is a higher standard of virtue that ADF Priests need to exhibit. They should not exhibit the same standard of others: they should rise above that standard. They should not be virtuous only on the outside: they must not have a double-standard that lurks within, eating them from the inside out. They should not do anything unexamined: they must test themselves constantly on whether an action is virtuous.
Gods, can I do that?
The more I work with the 9 Virtues, the more ingrained they become in my mind. I'm not to the point I feel I would need to be, though, where I automatically stop and say, "Is this wise?" or "Does this promote a positive aspect of fertility?" I'm not even sure if I can tell the difference between courage and stupidity.
Maybe it will just take a bit longer.
