July 10, 2005 - Jimmy, there's still so much to be done.
The evening is cool and calm. It's nice to have a break in the heat that's oppressed me so much. Last night was a cold night, but too chilly for my tastes. Fortunately, there was a warm body to keep me from getting too cold. Someone to pull close is an amazing thing, but sometimes you just need the time alone, when the temprature is just warm enough to make you comfortable, but not so cool that you shiver.
The CD I bought tonight is one that I've wanted for years. The Gin Blossoms' "New Miserable Experience" was on the clearance rack, and it was something I knew I had to get. I had other options, but this CD reminds me of those first few days of listening to really good music. In 1992, when this CD was released, I was taking my first tentative steps into music my parents didn't listen to. It moved me into a gradual independence that helped me turn into the person I am today.
It's after 1 AM, and I have a feeling that I'll be listening to the entire CD before bed.
Gods, 13 years ago there was so much to be done.
There still is.
And I'm gonna do it.
