March 21, 2005 - Eostra
The rite yesterday went well. The thing I'm happiest about is that the Grove
obviously doesn't need me: lees carried out the rite very well, very easily, and
I was very happy to see the whole Grove get into it.
And of course, the location was wonderful.
Well, there was one snag in the location: some people simply were not at all
interested in going out to the rite because it was so far out. It's too far from
"home base" for the Grove.
Still, 13 people showed, and the rite came off well. I went completely
off-script and extemporized several things in well-fitting ways.
The omens were good, the food was good, and I find myself looking forward to
Beltaine, where I can try this "no script" thing again on a larger
scale.
But what I really want to do now is get the Grove together for a spontaneous
ritual. No tools, no scripts, no nothing. Just us, our voices, and the Gods.
I think they'd like that.
