October 27, 2004 - Unicorns and Chaotes

Alice could not help her lips curling up into a smile as she began: "Do you know, I always thought Unicorns were fabulous monsters, too? I never saw one alive before!"

"Well, now we have seen each other," Said the Unicorn, "if you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you. Is that a bargain?"

"Yes, if you like," said Alice.

I'm a Chaos Magician. Some things are believed because I have proof, some because I have faith, and some because they're convenient. It is this last believe system most have problems with.

People wonder if I'm ever serious. They wonder if I can truly have faith. They worry that I'm going to leave them high and dry when it counts.

That worries me about Chaos Magic. It's not that there's a bad perception, really, but more the nagging thought in my mind: am I a Chaote, or am I a Druid?

Here's hoping that both sides of me can agree that the other exists, and those who see both sides agree that a Discordian Druid can exist.
