May 07, 2005 - Buffett Rite

The Buffett Rite, in my opinion, was the worst embarassment I've ever suffered in ritual.

"Bad" doesn't begin to describe how I feel about it.

The fact that the omens were good merely shows that Eris liked watching me make an absolute fool out of myself.

But you know what? It's not about how well or poorly I did. It's about how much fun I have doing what I love: specifically, worshipping the Gods. And I did have fun.

The omens were Ing, Berkano, and Jera

Ing - God of the East - Fertility, newness, bringer of spring

Berkano - Birch - fertility and flexibility. sometimes overabundant.

Jera - Year, fruitful year - good harvest: Do it again next year!

There were few praise offerings (a total of four), and yet we still got omens like this. I'm shocked. But very happy.
