April 13, 2005 - I'd rather be fishing

I was going to start this entry with:

"Sometimes, this clergy thing seems so wrong."

But that statement is extremely untrue.

There has never been a time that clergy seemed wrong to me.

There have been days where it, perhaps, didn't seem quite right, but never a day when it felt wrong.

There have been days when I'd rather do something else, but "something else" always informs or provides outlet for my community spiritual work.

So while my dreams are not always those of priestly garb, they are always of priestly service.

It's taken me a long time to see that.
