April 03, 2005 - Woodpeckers
How does a woodpecker not bash out it's brains?
I sit and watch one fly from tree to tree, looking for his dinner. He hops, then he stops, then he stands still. He listens, it seems, though I'm not sure what he listens for.
His careful selection of where to stick his nose is an admirable lesson.
