March 11, 2005 - Meditations outside the USG office on Ethics
Today's meditation, if you can call it a meditation, involves me sitting outside the Undergraduate Student Government office at Ohio State with a forged document in hand.
I'm struck by the ethics of the whole thing.
I was asked to drop this off, but I had to sign it for another person.
I'm passing myself off as another person, essentially. It's rather amusing.
Here, though, the ends are certainly justifying the means.
By falsifying a signature, I helped someone grow in their religion.
I'm amazed by the lack of caring about rules and regulations here. Well more amused than amazed. She asked me to forge her signature on the document so she could go to this conference. While technically, I can't do such a thing, if anyone asked if it was her signature, she'd say it is.
Add one to my list of duties as SD:
"Forge documents when necessary for further enlightenment of Grove members"
