August 31, 2004 - What's in a title?
Worshiping the Gods does not require clergy status.
Someone called "priest" is no more right in their worship and no more able to come before the Gods than someone without that title.
Ordination and priestly titles do not confer benefit to the individual. They are meant to confer benefit to the community and the Gods themselves.
I suspect that, in exchange, the priest receives a life of hard decisions and high expectation. His or her rewards are not so obvious.
The only true benefit of ordination is the knowledge that you are helping others.
You can serve the Gods correctly without such a title.
