Indo-European Mythology 1, Requirement 8c
Discuss how the following seven elements of ADF's cosmology are (or are not) reflected in the myths of two different Indo-European cultures. For this question, please use the same two cultures as a basis of comparison for the entire question. (minimum 100 words each)
Divisions Of Middleworld (e.g., 4 Quarters, 3 Triads, 8 Sections)
Land, Sea, Sky form the Celtic triad of the worlds, where the land extends about us, the sea supports and surrounds the earth, and the sky stretches out above us. Earth, Air, and Heaven form the Vedic three divisions. The Earth, of course, is where we stand. Above it, the sky and air form the next world, where lightning, rain and storms take place (as well as many demons range). Beyond the visible edge of the sky is the vault, beyond which lies heaven. (MacDonnell, 8-9) ADF ritual primarily works with the "Land, Sea, Sky" model of northern Europe, and often has a hard time fitting into the intricacies of Eastern IE cultures.
