History of Neo-Pagan Druidism, Requirement 4b
Of the following names, identify and explain the importance each has had in Neopagan history and/or the magical revival (minimum 100 words for each):
Robert Graves
Robert Graves:
Author of the highly inspirational (and inspired rather than ancient) poem, The White Goddess, among other works, he helped turn many people onto the idea of Goddess-worship as a way to return to peace and innocence (a strong theme still today in Neo-Paganism). Importantly, his work becomes the basis for a lot of bad scholarship, even though every edition of his poetry contains the note that The White Goddess is inspirational poetry, not history. Today, finding a Pagan willing to talk seriously about Graves' work is difficult, as most suspect that the person asking for the discussion is a lunatic fluffy bunny.
