Discuss the importance and value of divination as it relates to ADF group worship. (minimum 100 words)

Seers function within ADF group ritual as facilitators of the omen. The omen is a key portion of the rite, and it describes whether the sacrifices have been accepted, and whether they were proper for the work. They also describe the blessings offered in return. Here, a correct interpretation of the omen is crucial because it may mean the difference between honouring the gods properly, and insulting Them.

The seer should also be on the lookout for signs during the ritual that are not part of the main omen, but that help complete the picture the Gods wish to paint for us. A good example would be one of Three Cranes' rituals, where a woodpecker enjoyed the ritual with us. Our seer interpreted this bird as a good omen, and it added to our feeling that the ritual had gone well.
