Friday:Etymology: Freya's Day. What I use it for: Freya is the Goddess of Love and is also a Goddess of Magic, particularly dark Magic. Her relations with this sort of Magic caused me to see Fridays as days where I should give offerings to the Nature Spirits, not because the Kindred are "dark", but because they are certainly mischievous and dangerous to cross. Another reason for this connection is that Freya is a fertility Goddess, and this (in my mind) connects her to the Kindred. Sacrifices left are usually grains, given their obvious connection to the Earth. I often get responses to sacrifices made. Back to the Observances. Content © 2003, Michael J Dangler |
